Noise Reduction Siding

Wasn’t it the worst when you used to live in an apartment and you heard every single thing the neighbors were saying? Every single thing the neighbors were doing? Every creak and crack you heard before, you’d hope would go away with a home purchased. I can’t tell you the amount of times and houses I’ve lived in with loud noises. It could be the traffic outside on the side road, the chatting of the next door neighbors, or dogs barking in the middle of the night. Or the worst, my neighbor who always decides to rev up his motorcycle at 12am in the morning three times a week, to what end I have no idea. These noises in your daily life shouldn’t affect your mood but believe me, I understand how frustrating it is when you just want to sleep and the motorcycle starts to rev or the neighbors decide to have a long chat (argument) right outside your door. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a solution to these problems?

Let me tell you as an owner of a home myself it doesn’t really matter if you’re in a house or not, it seems like the neighbors are always loud despite anything you could possibly do, right? There’s nothing to block the noise. Especially where I live in Texas, the cacophonous  traffic noise outside never ceases to flood inside my house, it lingers there like bad perfume at the cosmetic counter. For some of us (not me and maybe not you) it’s become like white noise.

Your solution is not to just accept the world the way it is and to just give up. There might actually be a better answer to your troubles that is easier than pulling your hair out (trust me, I’ve tried doing that it doesn’t work as well as you’d think). So if you feel like giving up on the noise or you’ve been unable to figure out why your neighborhood is so loud, like me, Conservation Construction might have the solution for you. So what is this big miracle to reducing noise in your neighborhood? The truth is you can’t reduce the noise in your neighborhood, because you can’t control the outside world. But you can control the noise that comes in.  How will you finally get some peace and quiet? Is it magic, hardly. Is it practical, very. Not only am I about to tell you of a product that has changed my house and my sanity, it has also added resale value to my home, it’s weather resistant, and it’s not too bad to look at either. I think I even saw my neighbor yesterday giving my house the eye like they were jealous and wanted my house as their own. So what exactly is this miracle product? They have been placing it on the side of houses for generations. It’s siding. And at Conservation Construction of Texas we put the side in siding.

Noises entering from the outside may be amplified when you have wood floors or poor building materials at construction. But the biggest sound transmissions are coming from the outside. The key to noise reduction is to block the sounds from ever getting in. What if the sound waves are coming right through your siding outside, through that layer of drywall, and entering your home? If you had the correct sound absorbing siding, those unwanted noises would not be able penetrate your quiet living space. Of course our amazing solid core doors and phenomenal windows could also help to dampen the sound, but let’s save that for another article and just talk about the siding.

Our siding installed on your home could cause both sound absorption from the noises outside, and sound reduction reflecting the sounds back to your neighbors. So let’s get technical for a minute here, this means that the noise level in your house is going down baby, way down.

      I have a few questions:
      1. What is your siding material made from? It is not clear in any of your web site information?
      2. What type(s) siding do you recommend for Houston. My understanding is that a vinyl type product is not feasible in Texas.
      3. I assume the Neopor insulation is a separate product from the siding?
      4. How does your product compare to the price of Hardie Siding?

      Regards,
      Don
